The socialization was attended by around 100 participants consisting of government and community elements, ranging from district heads, village heads, to representatives of RT/RW, LMK, FKDM, and PKK cadres.

As a form of joint commitment, an agreement was signed by various parties, starting from the district head, village head, head of the Environmental Sub-agency, head of the Community Health Center, to elements of Fire Handling and Rescue.

Munjirin stated that active community participation is crucial in managing waste from its source. This will further reduce the amount of waste dumped at the Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Processing Facility (TPST).

"Waste management must start in each individual's environment. Waste sorting is key to continuously reducing the volume of waste dumped at the Bantar Gebang Landfill," he said, Tuesday (4/28).

Munjirin also inaugurated the Ceria Waste Bank as the main waste bank in Makasar District.

"The existence of this waste bank is expected to be able to become a management center for all waste banks spread across the Makasar District area, including in the process of weighing and distributing non-organic waste," he added.

Munjirin explained that waste sorting not only applies to households, but must also be implemented in various sectors, such as places of worship, offices, hotels, restaurants, and cafes.

"Non-organic waste is sent to the waste bank, while organic waste can be processed into compost," he stated.
